Volunteers at our Oakville location run a feis (a gaelic word for competition), where dancers from Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Illinois come to compete, catch up with old friends, and make new ones. They also run an internal feis solely for Goggin-Stewart dancers, called a Class Feis.
The Oakville Feis takes place each September in Oakville, Ontario, and is managed by the Oakville Feis Association.
The OIDA/Goggin-Stewart Class Feis (pictured above) occurs each Spring, and is a fun day to gain competition experience for dancers of all levels in a relaxed atmosphere. It is confined to Goggin-Stewart dancers current with their registration, and the day is topped off with a traditional Irish ceili with live music and a live ceili caller starting in the late afternoon, highlighting the fun and social aspect of Irish dance.
